The outreach mammogram program has 3 separate interactive tiers. One is direct outreach in the community, second is telephonic outreach to women requiring annual screening mammograms, and the third is a navigation program assisting women through the journey from screening to diagnosis to treatment and follow-up. The care team consists of breast cancer experts who work together to ensure that person receives the best care possible. The team includes nurses and technologists, medical oncologists, surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, genetic counselors, psychologists, social workers, pathologists, plastic and reconstructive surgeons, radiologists, and support by our breast cancer care navigator.
“When we look to define what providing great health care means to our patients, it is that we will not only screen and diagnose but provide resources and navigation for the patients we serve. Doing one without the other is not completing our mission for serving the population health needs for our community. It is imperative that we consider how best to wrap all of our services into a package that helps guide the navigation of care for the people we serve.” — Beth Quinn, Sr. Director, Women’s Health Operations, Magee Womens Hospital Service Line
Donations are always appreciated, but there are lots of great ways to get involved.
