Pink Revolution was founded by Lauren Caulfield, a breast cancer survivor, and Ronda Chrystal. After being diagnosed with breast cancer in January 2017, Lauren completed 12 months of chemotherapy and six weeks of radiation. In the wake of having her world turned upside down, Lauren relied heavily on her own support system to pull her through. While she was in treatment, she met cancer patients who didn’t have a lot of support. Some were going to chemo alone and others didn’t have a support system at home. Too many patients were being forced to skip chemo sessions because they were experiencing financial difficulties and couldn’t afford to fill their gas tank to get to treatment. She also heard of stories of food insecurity for some of the patients, interfering with positive clinical outcomes. On the last day of treatment, she vowed that she was going to find a way to better support cancer patients and look for the silver lining in her own cancer journey.

Inspired to make chemotherapy a better experience, volunteers have banded together to provide 1500 chemo care packages each year for patients in active treatment. At Pink Revolution, we believe that no patient should ever have to skip their treatment because they can’t afford the gas to fill their tank. At the same time, we believe that every patient should be able to put healthy food on their table during treatment, something that is critical to positive patient outcomes. Our gas/grocery card program has had a dramatic impact on patients in New England.
