The Ascension St. Vincent Mobile Mammography Unit partners with several local organizations to provide free screening mammograms to women from underserved populations in Central Indiana. Partners include Alivio Medical Center, Heart & Soul Clinic, Gennesaret Free Clinic, Gleaners, Hope Family Health Center, Latino Health Organization, Little Red Door, Mama’s Cupboard, Robin Run Village, Raphael Health Center, Trinity Free Clinic, and Chamber 465. The mobile unit provides free mammography services on site at these partner locations, which means patients can receive these services at locations they already visit to receive other healthcare and/or social services. By providing free mammograms in this highly convenient manner, the Ascension St. Vincent Mobile Mammography Unit is able to maximize the number of individuals from the target patient population who are able to receive these important screenings.
“We are extremely grateful for the vital role that the National Breast Cancer plays in helping to support the efforts of Ascension St. Vincent to provide free mammograms to women from underserved populations through the outreach activities of the Ascension St. Vincent Mobile Mammography Unit. By doing so, the National Breast Cancer Foundation is helping Ascension St. Vincent adhere to its Mission, which includes a commitment to serve all persons, with special attention to those who are poor and vulnerable.” — Keena Rector, Director Breast Services, Indiana Central & North Region, Ascension St. Vincent
Donations are always appreciated, but there are lots of great ways to get involved.
