Logan Health Medical Center provides comprehensive care for breast cancer patients, from population awareness and education outreach campaigns to all forms of screening, genetic counseling, collaborative care navigation, and treatment. Since 2008, the Logan Health Save a Sister initiative has promoted breast cancer awareness and provided funding for breast screenings for eligible patients. Our mission is to lessen the prevalence and impact of breast cancer in our community.
The women helped by this program are our neighbors, family members and friends. They are our sisters. Since its inception, Save a Sister has provided more than 1,000 mammograms and ultrasounds for local women, as well as biopsies, lymphedema garments and nutrition classes. Save a Sister also supports postoperative durable goods that often are not paid for by insurance.
The National Breast Cancer Foundation is a vital partner with Logan Health’s Save a Sister initiative, as it provides and ensures that women in-need have access to the services needed to detect breast cancer and improve health outcomes with ongoing support.
“The most recent funding provided by NBCF has provided much needed access to food staples, toiletries, wellness coaching, transportation and lodging to patients going through breast cancer treatment. We are thankful for the incredible support we have received from the NBCF and look forward to the continued partnership between our two organizations to help serve women in Northwestern Montana.” — Allison Meilicke, Chair of Logan Health’s Save a Sister initiative
Donations are always appreciated, but there are lots of great ways to get involved.
