Since 1991, both the Breast Center at Methodist Dallas and Methodist Charlton’s Women’s Imaging Center have provided quality breast health care to south Dallas community members through on-site services and mobile mammography. The services provided by the center address the entire continuum of care process, from screening to survivorship care for breast cancer survivors. Our robust nurse and social work navigation program play an instrumental role in addressing critical barriers to care for underserved populations and are available throughout the entire treatment and survivorship journey. Weekly multidisciplinary breast conferences ensure that every patient diagnosed with breast cancer has an individualized treatment plan before beginning treatment. Monthly breast cancer survivors support group allows for peer collaboration and deep connections with other survivors. Upon completion of treatment, each breast cancer survivor is provided a treatment summary and follow-up care plan by the nurse navigator who serves as a long-term resource for all survivors.
“For over 30 years, the Breast Center at Methodist Dallas has provided underserved members of our community the highest quality of breast cancer. Each year, we screen thousands of women and save hundreds of lives. Providing care to those with limited or no resources for breast health care is extremely fulfilling. It makes me proud that Methodist Health System strives to accomplish our mission of providing compassionate quality care to all individuals, regardless of socioeconomic factors.” — Charla Gauthier, Quality & Outcomes Manager, Methodist Dallas Medical Center
Donations are always appreciated, but there are lots of great ways to get involved.
