Jackson Health System (JHS) is the only safety-net healthcare system in Florida’s most populous county, Miami-Dade, and one of the largest safety-net and teaching health systems in the United States. The Taylor/Chaplin Breast Health Center (Breast Health Center) at JHS’s flagship Jackson Memorial Hospital serves all in need of services and care, regardless of their ability to pay. The Breast Health Center has earned the designation as a Breast Center of Excellence. With funding from Mitchell and Elizabeth Taylor, The Taylor Breast Health Center opened in 1992 at Jackson Memorial Hospital. In 2012, Harvey and Roberta Chaplin provided the funding to establish a digital breast imaging center and the Breast Health Center was named the Taylor/Chaplin Breast Health Center. At the Taylor/Chaplin Breast Health Center, patients have access to clinical breast exams, screening mammograms, diagnostic mammograms, ultrasounds, and biopsies.
“We at Taylor/Chaplin work tirelessly to ensure that NO patient is left behind.” — Nurse Manager, Taylor/Chaplin Breast Health Center
