International Art Acts serves as the global bridge between international art organizations and individual artists who are working toward achieving goals of global peace, harmony, and happiness. This year, through the leadership of Dr. Dipankar Roy, Global Chairman & President of International Art Acts, they have established a partnership with National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) through their “World of Art: Campaign to Support Breast Cancer Through Art.” By joining forces with artists all around the globe, the organization has been collecting donated pieces of art since February 2021 and will be auctioning them off Friday, August 20th in a virtual event through Sotheby’s Auction House, with a goal of raising $100,000 US Dollars. The organization has determined NBCF as the first partner of a hopeful many to support those facing breast cancer, not only in the United States, but also India and beyond.
Despite the incredibly difficult struggles caused by the pandemic, the artist community has come together in significant strides to support this special campaign. As Dr. Dipanker Roy stated, “This has been an amazing creative journey towards achieving the goal of humanity. This journey has provided a wonderful experience, proving the sensitivity of Art and its support towards making this world more beautiful for all.” The works of art come from over 100 countries, highlighting a truly global collaboration to raise awareness and support for those affected by breast cancer.
NBCF is honored to join forces to raise more money for education, detection, navigation, and support. “We are so grateful that Dr. Roy and International Art Acts chose this cause because we know the funds they raise will help save lives. Breast cancer is a global problem, and we must do everything we can to help women find breast cancer early when the disease is most treatable. Pablo Picasso once said, ‘Art washes away from the soul the dust of every day life.’ The everyday life for a breast cancer patient is hard and requires hope. This auction will bring help for today and hope for tomorrow,” said Chief Program Officer, Douglas Feil.
